A privately owned company farming, processing, selling and developing chicken and egg products for major customers including Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury, McVitie’s – 500+ employees / Turnover c.£70m.
Responsible: to Finance Director, for 12 staff. Responsible for all Finance, Day-to-Day Administration & IT activities (Accounts, Product Costing & Reporting, Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, Reception, IT).
Improvements that I made included:
Implementation of Time & Attendance System, linked to new Payroll system (Reduced number of Payroll staff to 1) Improved processing times, efficiencies, profits, reporting and control.
Developed / Introduced / Obtained Acceptance of team rota system in Product Reporting section (weekly reporting / accounting of 4 product groups) to ensure timely reporting and remove disruptions during holidays / sickness etc.
Introduced PC’s and the use and development of spreadsheets and databases to improve the quality, accuracy, relevance and timeliness of management reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting (bringing forward weekly reporting by 1 day).
The Company has since been taken over by 2 Sisters Food Group (2005).
