A British Aerospace company in Aerospace systems design, engineering and manufacturing for the defence and civil markets - 1200 employees.
Responsible: to Director of Finance and Resources, for 27 staff. Responsible for all Core Finance activities, Project Finance, Financial Systems, Insurance/Risk Management.
Improvements that I brought about included:
Restructured, relocated, recruited and trained Finance department, necessitated by closing 1 of 2 sites.
Set up and negotiated external links for company (Treasury, Banking, Headquarters, Customs & Excise, Insurance, etc.) – due to company being made autonomous to plc.
Redistribution and reduction of manpower within the function by 2 heads. More effective, efficient, timely reporting, by introduction of use of Excel – enabled detailed analysis and reporting of all costs, reduced overheads expenditure by 7+%.
Member of the a number of committees/panels, covering areas such as: Operations, Foreign Currency, Small Business Scheme, Team Building Facilitator, Management Assessment - Assessor, and Responsible for financial training of all Functions.
